The Switching Company · Founded 2019

One device.
All the protection.

The PowerSwitcher replaces contactors, fuses, current sensors, and precharge lines — in a single solid-state module from 48V to 1500V.

Key Features

An intelligent
electronic switch.

Designed to protect any electrical installation — outperforming electromechanical components and standard solid-state circuit breakers.

Ultra Fast
Microsecond-class response. Analogic reaction catches faults before they propagate.
Bidirectional
Blocks current flow in both directions — no topology constraint for your architecture.
Wear-Free
MOSFET/JFET technology — no mechanical contacts, no degradation over the product's entire lifetime.
🔄
Re-Armable
Resettable without manual intervention. No replacement needed after a fault event.
🛡
Max Surge Current Known
Active current cap at 1 kA protects your battery and DC bus from destructive inrush events.
Reduced Weight & Footprint
Replaces several BDU components in one compact unit — cuts system weight by several kilograms.
🔋
Precharge Capability
Automatic pre-charge built in. Safe live insertion without external circuitry.
Inductance-Free
Current limiting makes inductance irrelevant. Design your pack freely — no more inductance constraints.

Active Current Control

Same event.
Two outcomes.

CURRENT vs. TIME — SHORT-CIRCUIT EVENT
CurrentTime →>10 kA1 kA capFuse blowsShutdown
Standard Fuse
PowerSwitcher
FUSE
Passive — no current limit
Fault current can exceed 10 kA. The fuse is destroyed after a single event and must be replaced.
PS™
Active — hard cap at 1 kA
Fault current never reaches destructive levels. Detection via Vds in microseconds — no sense resistor needed. Reusable after event.
Inductance-free design freedom
With current capped and cutoff energy bounded, inductance no longer constrains your architecture. Wire and layout freely.

Comparison

One device replaces four.

The PowerSwitcher consolidates contactors, fuse, current sensor, and precharge line — with active intelligence none of them could provide.

Reliability & Safety

Designed to fail safe.

Every failure scenario leads to a safe, predictable state. Default state: OPEN (De-Energised).

FM-01
Control signal loss
Wire break, MCU failure or CAN loss
Automatic switch to OPEN state. After timeout, load de-energised. No unintended activation possible.
→ OPEN · Fail-safe
FM-02
Overtemperature
High load current or insufficient cooling
Output inhibited to protect internal components. Load de-energised until thermal condition is resolved.
→ OPEN · Inhibited
FM-03
Free-wheeling diode failure
Short-circuit
Current capped at 1000 A → output immediately forced OPEN. Inverter and DC Bus fully preserved.
→ OPEN · Bus preserved
FM-04
Supply voltage failure
Loss of low-voltage power supply
Output automatically forced OPEN. No unintended load activation. Load de-energised.
→ OPEN · Fail-safe
FM-05
Power-on self-test
Internal diagnostic at every startup
Full self-check before allowing closure. Fault detected → stays OPEN and reports via CAN. No silent failure.
→ Fault code via CAN
FM-06
Pre-charge failure
Sequence not completed in time
Module aborts, stays OPEN, reports a fault via CAN. No high-current inrush risk.
→ OPEN · CAN alert

Certifications

Built to be certified.

Roadmap aligned with automotive, industrial and market-entry standards — in Europe and North America.

ISO 26262 — ASIL CTarget
